Prince George, BC, March 31, 2025 – Provectus Biofuels Inc. (the “Company” or “Provectus”) today announced that its partnership with the Tsay Key Dene Nation has been dissolved by mutual agreement of both parties, thereby suspending the Sekani Biofuels Project.
“The regions surrounding the District of Mackenzie have an abundance of wood waste biomass that, if used as a feedstock for a biofuels project, represents a significant economic opportunity for the region,” said Jon Jaque, CEO of Provectus. “Provectus remains optimistic about the region’s potential for a biofuels plant. However, we believe an important first step for the entire region is a regional biomass strategy that enlists the support of all stakeholders and industry participants in the region to secure the power and fibre supply required for an industrial scale project.”
A wood waste to green biofuel plant would not only align with provincial and federal sustainable energy and climate objectives, it would create significant employment and business opportunities for the members of surrounding communities and significant ongoing revenues for regional partners in the project. Should conditions become favourable for an industrial scale biofuels project in the future, Provectus will reengage with the stakeholders in the region in an effort to make this important opportunity a reality.
